Faiers Training is owned and run by Nigel Faiers. He has over twenty-two years experience in the care & support sector, including eight years at a senior management level.
He has acted as the Supporting People lead officer for a Housing Association with a £1.5 million Supporting People grant income. Client groups included the elderly, young people, single homelessness, learning disabilities, mental health, domestic violence and drugs / alcohol. He has coordinated work on ensuring that the Association prepared for contract reviews."
As well as line managing care and nursing home managers, he has fulfilled the responsibility of named proprietor, and developed a quality audit system to ensure compliance with the National Minimum Standards.
Before coming into the care and support sector his background involved public speaking and work in secondary school education.
Nigel is a qualified trainer (PTLLS and CTLLS) and member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development. Nigel has run training courses across England & Scotland and also trained the trainers for a leading Abuse Awareness charity. He served on a National Housing Association's Management Board and chaired their Housing Management Committee from 1999 through to September 2010.
Faiers Conferences is run by Denise Faiers, who organises a number of one day open courses each year. The open courses allow organisations to book one or more places for staff, rather than needing sufficient numbers to run an inhouse session.
Faiers Training & Faiers Conferences also work with Associate trainers, who have a proven track record in their field and deliver popular courses on our behalf.
Peter Kaye is an independent psychiatric (and general) nurse. He divides his working time between providing an in-house mental health service to the NHS patients of a large GP surgery and providing training and consultancy services to the care, support and health sectors.
Nilam Vyas M.A. is an equality/diversity specialist, management consultant, trainer, researcher and trained workplace mediator. She has considerable experience in both the public and private sectors. Clients include central Government departments and their agencies, the BMA, Local Authorities, NHS Trusts & Universities.

- A one - day course lasts approximately seven hours including a short lunch break (e.g. 9:30am to 4:30pm). Two day programmes and half day refresher courses are also available. Half day courses can be held in the morning or afternoon and last for three hours.
- The one day course work and style of participation best suits a group of between six and sixteen participants
- With the exception of Dealing with Aggressive & Violent Behaviour training, a one day course costs £575 per day plus travel @ 45p per mile (& overnight accommodation/meals if required). The price is fully inclusive of all preparation and handouts. No VAT is added. A half day course costs £350 plus travel costs etc., or £575 plus costs if two half day courses are run on the same date.
- Faiers Training works closely with the client to ensure that the course reflects your organisation's way of working and any policies and procedures you already have in place.

The training techniques employed therefore includes a mixture of power point or overhead acetate presentation, flip chart work, memorable group exercises, DVD etc. There are comprehensive handouts covering the full day's content, and additional material. Care is taken to tailor the course and handouts to the organisation's own philosophy and ways of working, including policies and procedures already in existence.
